PFLAG chapters across Alaska oppose any efforts to single out one segment of Alaskans for discrimination, as represented by the April 3rd advisory vote.

-Discrimination is bad for Alaskan businesses, tourism, education, health care and other vital social services by making them less competitive.
-Major companies including Ford Motor Company, British Petroleum and Alaska Airlines offer domestic partnership benefits to attract the best employees.
-Adding partnership benefits cost less than ½ of one percent of program costs.
-Denying health insurance benefits hurts Alaskan families and their children
-Discrimination undermines the equal protection clause of our constitution.

We encourage every Alaskan to think about the money being spent on this issue and if there isn't something better we should be doing to support families rather than take away health benefits from anyone.

VOTE NO on the advisory vote regarding health benefits on April 3rd.
